SIT partners with the “Value of Water Community” promoted by The European House Ambrosetti

February 16th, 2023

Milan, February 16, 2023 – For the third consecutive year SIT, a multinational listed on the Euronext Milan segment of Borsa Italiana (Italian Stock Exchange) which creates intelligent solutions for controlling environmental conditions and measuring consumption, renews its partnership with the Value of Water Community (“Community Valore Acqua per l’Italia”), which involves the key players in the extended Italian water supply chain and the national and European institutions of reference, aiming to favor a constructive and permanent discussion on the management of the water resource.

Established in 2019, the Community has reached its fourth year of activity, the culmination of which will be on March 22 when, on World Water Day, the 2023 White Paper developed by the Community will be presented in Rome together with the Blue Book of Utilitalia and the Utilitatis Foundation.

SIT, which entered the water meter market at the end of 2020 with the acquisition of the Portuguese company Janz, also pursues sustainability through the implementation of products which, through the introduction of new technologies for measuring the consumption of water resources, allows the end user to limit losses and to be aware of their consumption with a significant positive impact in reducing waste, guaranteeing water saving and energy efficiency. All of this is possible thanks to IoT technology, used by SIT to develop technological solutions capable of limiting energy consumption. An example is the new generation of smart water meters (also developed by SIT through its subsidiary MeteRSIT) which, if used on a large scale, could in fact help to drastically reduce water consumption and waste. The new meters are in fact equipped with a communication system that makes it possible to measure consumption remotely, identifying any losses and inefficient uses. These meters are one of the enabling elements for the provision of services aimed at network efficiency as well as water balancing.
